Lovage

Levisticum officinale

Perennial. Related to celery and parsley this vigorous growing garden herb has been called the “Queen of the Umbels” and can reach heights of 7’ tall!  Its leaves, seeds and roots have been used to season soups and salads for centuries.  Originally from a variety of Mediterranean basin regions, it has also been used widely for a long list of medicinal values. 

Lovage is not too hard to grow! 

• Seeds germinate in 7-21 days.
• Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost and transplant after danger of frost has passed.
• Sow seeds 1/4 inch deep.
• Ideal germination temperature is 65-80 F.
