Radicchio, Treviso (85 days) Cichorium intybus

The tapered hearts of this Italian provincial chicory make the most beautiful salads you can plate. Pure white midribs with burgundy red exteriors and crimson internal leaves, shorter and broader than leaves of Late Treviso. Sow in July for winter crop. Burgundy red color on long, pointed foliage does not develop until cold weather sets in.
