Cucumber, Bolivian (aka Achocha) - (100 days) - An incredibly vigorous growing relative if cucumber that grows 10-12 feet long vines. We obtained seed of this unique cultivar from Dr. Alan "Mushroom" Kapuler of Peace Seeds in Corvallis, OR. Achocha has been cultivated in the Andes for hundreds of years where it is also known as caigua. Not a true cucumber, rather it is more like a distant relative. It has soft, little "thorns" or horns on tyhe fruit. Like cool (not vold) weather. Sprawling vining habit can be trained to climb up a fence or trellis. Traditionally used cut up in soupls, or hollowed out, stuffed with cheese, and baked. SSF
