Dan Shen (Red Sage), Salvia multiorrhiza

A standard in Traditional Chinese medicine, Danshen also know as Red Sage is part of the Lamiaceae family. Danshen is a perennial herb that grows to about 2 feet tall.  Like many Salvia genus members, Danshen has unique beak shaped beautiful lavender flowers with dark purple calyx. Fairly easy to grow, seeds take 14-21 days to germinate.
