Baby Butternut, Burpee’s Butterbush  

Curcurbita moschata (75 days) 

Excellent early-maturing butternut, with compact vines (3-4 ft).  Flesh is deep reddish-orange, moist and deliciously sweet.  Long keeper.  Yields 1.5 - 4 lb fruits, averaging 4 fruits per plant.  Selection for uniformity is ongoing with this old strain so their may still be some elongated types that we hope to rogue out in future generations of growing seed.
